Our church scheduled their annual community-wide Easter Egg Hunt for this morning. Last year, K was sick and very disappointed that she missed it. So, this year she had her alarm set early and was dressed and ready hours before the hunt. Wouldn't you know, right before we headed out it started raining. :( A cold, yucky kind of rain. Mike and I started whispering about what alternative fun we could have to help ease the disappointment. Of course, we drove by to see if anyone was hanging around and wondered if the rain would let up before the scheduled time. Well, to our surprise....there was a parking lot full of people and the tents were set up. We could see the colored eggs dotting the hills. The hunt was going on as scheduled!! Miss K couldn't have been happier. So, we hung out in the rain(which actually came down harder), ate hot dogs way too early in the morning, entered raffles, had her face painted and watched the massive egg hunt. The rain was quite the advantage for the kids that did show up. K said it best early on...."rain means less kids, which means more eggs for me!" The parking lot cleared out quickly after the hunt as everyone hurried home to change their clothes. However.... everyone had fun!
Memories are made of this stuff!!!
